DF65 Racing 6-Dec'23

7 skippers arrived in cold conditions to compete in the 5th race of the series. The wind was initially non-existent, but rose sufficiently from a generally easterly direction for Chris to set a short 1 lap heat starting on "Big Orange (B)" and R, Y, B, and finishing Y and 0. The second heat had and extra leg and finished B/Y, but thereafter all heats started Y/0 and included Y on the first lap as per the diagram.

There were some close finishes and good starts didn't always mean a good finish with the wind direction, particularly around R shifting significantly. In the last heat 06, 277 and 142 went off together after B but managed to free themselves whilst the rest of the competitors looked on wishing they could go home.

Today's top 3 are:

1st - J Richardson(43)

2nd - I White (28)

3rd - J Bennett (002)

Congratulations to them and a hot toddy to all who competed.

Best wishes,

Bruce
