Eastleigh and District Model Boat Club

The Sail Division has its home at the beautiful Lakeside Country Park, with its lakes, wild life and famous model railway.
We always welcome visitors and new members of all levels of experience.
We meet on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings and race between 10.00 and 12.00. Do come along either to watch or join in – contact us first and we might be able to lend you a boat to try out.
The club is affliated to the Model Yachting Association (MYA) and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).

The Sail Division races International One Metre yachts, the Dragon Force 65, an off the shelf, single design class and the Dragon Flite 95 yacht, the slightly larger sister to the DF65, both of which are gaining widespread popularity.
Our sailing location is shown below with plenty of car parking immediately outside the Park Entrance. We are officially authorised by Eastleigh Borough Council to use one of the Lakeside lakes. The Council usually permits us to take cars to the water side, and to keep our race marks on the lake throughout the year. There are bathroom facilities in the Park, and a cafe at the nearby model railway.

Driving in Lakeside Park
Please remember that it is a continuous effort to protect our privilege to drive and park at the water edge. So the max. speed is DEAD SLOW. DEAD SLOW is actually around 3 mph, and can feel unnatural, but please keep to it. Always give way to pedestrians and cyclists and ensure you come to a stop if needed.
