Racing Results 26-Aug

Many thanks to Roger for supplying the details of today's racing.

With a very light breeze, mostly from an NE-SE direction, course setting was difficult, but a start line between the laid red buoy and 3 worked as well as anything. From there, Mustard was the first mark followed by Yellow then 3 before going round again with a finish between Mustard and Pink. The wind continued to frustrate for most of the morning but in the end eight races were able to be sailed. The antics of the scouts in 25 canoes created a confused sea state which didn’t help. Neither did the water level which was as low as anyone can remember, giving grounding opportunities in unexpected parts of the racecourse.

Unfortunately, owing to a non-recording of 622 in heat 2, an average score had to be applied.

Congratulations to today's top 3:

1st - C Salter (9)

2nd - J Bennett (17)

3rd - C Wilson (21)

Also well done to the series podium sitters:

1st - I White (16)

2nd - C Wilson (19)

3rd - M Harcourt (25)

and to all 13 sailors who took part.

Best wishes,

Bruce

A sunny but cooler than recent (20°C) morning invited 8 sailors to compete in the 6th round of the Jul-Aug series. The wind was nominally NW 11kt, but varied constantly both in strength and direction.
