Racing Results 5-Aug'26

A sunny but cooler than recent (20°C) morning invited 8 sailors to compete in the 6th round of the Jul-Aug series. The wind was nominally NW 11kt, but varied constantly both in strength and direction. Chris chose a course of M/P, R, 3, P, R, 2, P, R/2 and the hope was that either R to 3 or R to 2 would provide a beat. In practice both required some tacks and often the wind was light around the top marks. Malcolm sailed his DF65 with an A rig, but chose not to be scored at this event and Maurice suffered a sheeting problem which curtailed his sailing after heat 5. In heat 4 positions 4, 5 and 6 were unable to be separated and so tied for 4th place resulting in each being awarded 5 points.

Those who managed to find the wind helping them most were:

1st - B Ryde-Weller (16)

2nd - C Salter (16)

3rd - J Bennett (18)

Well done to all for an enjoyable morning's sail.

Best wishes,

Bruce
