9 sailors attended Lakeside to compete in the 2nd round of the Sep-Oct series and were greeted with a WNW breeze which made selecting a course which provided an upwind start line challenging. After some debate R/3, Y, P, Y, P, R/3 was used for the first race and then O, 1 were inserted on the second lap instead of Y and that provided a semblance of a beat. 10 heats were sailed (Roger arriving late unfortunately missing the first 2) and the variable wind conditions provided many position changes and some very close finishes. Having won the first 3 races #28 decided not to answer the helm and headed for the far bank. Some expert sailing and shepherding by #84 brought it back to near the jetty from where it was rescued. Ian didn't start heat 4 and then borrowed Chris' #09 for the remainder of the heats.

Those who found the more favourable winds today were:

1st - B Ryde-Weller (19)

2nd - C Wilson (24)

3rd - I White (26)

Well done to all for and enjoyable, if at times frustrating, morning's sail.

Best wishes,

Bruce
