DF65 Racing Results 25-Jun'25

Thanks to Roger for the details of today's sailing:

So, to the last regatta of the May/June series. A slightly reduced but nevertheless enthusiastic fleet of eight skippers took on the light airs offered up – mostly from S to W but with some baffling wind shifts thrown in for good measure. Cognitive ability was tested when it was decided to alternate the start and finish line as the light winds were making passage times from one end of the lake to the other rather tedious. When the Pink/Orange and Black start line was used, the big orange mark was the first to be rounded with the course remaining the same until the final pink after which it was straight to the finish. This complication has not been reproduced on the diagram! Eight races ensued with an, at times, steady but light breeze giving a good morning’s racing.

1st Roger Brydges (8)

2nd Mike Harcourt (10)

3rd Julyan Richardson (13)

The series podium is:

1st Roger Brydges (13)

2nd Chris Wilson (18)

3rd Ian White (23)

In all 19 sailors took part in what was a quite varied series of races with mainly light winds. Well done to all!

Best wishes,

Bruce
