DF65 Results 11 Jan'23

Blue skies and a pleasant 10kn breeze welcomed 10 sailors to the second round of the Jan-Feb series. Chris predicted that the wind would rise, but everyone stayed with A+ rigs. His boat was wearing number 9, but was scored as 06 as usual. He set a course of 0/1, 4, 8, O, Y, 0, 4, 8, O, Y, 0, 8/O.

John Smith suffered a transmitter failure - possible ingress of water following last Sunday's racing and Mike Harcourt and Maurice Clayton had a hook up and ended up in the vegetation necessitating a rescue from Chris.

The wind did increase, to such a level that made control difficult at times, although rounding buoy 4 seemed always a gentle if rather frustrating exercise.

Those who made the most of the conditions were:

1st - C Wilson (06)

2nd - J Bennett (002)

3rd - J Richardson (43)

Congratulations to them.

Best wishes,

Bruce
