Racing Results 19-Nov'25

8 hopeful sailors arrived at Lakeside where there was a cold NNE wind and it was raining. There was a debate in the bike shelter as to whether to sail or not. Eventually it was "as we are here, we might as well", so racing started at 10.15. The wind was top end of A+ and there was a mixture of A and A+ rigs used. The course started with O/4, Y, 3, 8, Y, 3, M, NorthPier/3 and after the break was changed to P/O, Y, 3, 8, Y, 3, 8, NorthPier/3 and 5 heats were raced in rather squally and changeable conditions. There was some nose diving in the A+fleet and in the 5th heat 28 sank. Sailing was curtailed, and the dinghy employed with a line to try to snag it and bring it to shore, but all attempts failed. If anyone has any equipment which could be used to better effect, please let me know.

The top 3 (all A+ rigs) today were:

1st - C Wilson (6)

2nd - J Bennett (7)

3rd - M Harcourt (12)

The top A rig sailor was J Richardson who was 4th overall with 14 points.

Best wishes,

Bruce

8 sailors enjoyed a dry sunny morning with a decent 8kn SSW breeze, which annoyingly seemed to have holes just where you had decided to sail to. Never mind, 8 heats were raced, initially over a course
