A lovely sunny day with very little wind welcomed 8 sailors, but with a short triangular course set OB/4,O,0,OB/4, the first heat was completed. The wind then rose (very slightly and not for very long) and the decision was made to increase the course to 2 laps and this continued throughout the morning and enabled 8 heats.

JS (277) suffered from stiff bearings and RB (33) had a battery die, but there was some close racing with places changing throughout.

Today's podium: J Bennett (002), I White (28), B Ryde-Weller (142). Congratulations to them.

Best wishes,

Bruce

Please find today's IOM results for your appropriate disposal.

A brisk NNW breeze was there to greet a welcome ten competitors, plus one sailing in company an RG65, whose skipper kindly did a Race Observer Duty, (ROD) for race #10, which owing to a dramatic reduction in wind became the longest race of the morning. So thanks again John. After tea, course 'A' was re-visited, thus enabling a total of ten races, of which nine were to count given that all competitors performed ROD, which is recorded and included in the concession of discarded scores. Competition was intense, mainly until after the first windward mark. But as ever, a leading boat can never really

get far enough ahead to be assured a victory.

This week's virtual fly past of swans and parakeets may go to...............

1st Place - RD, at the helm of #15

2nd Place - TR, sailing #85

3rd Place - JB, skipper of #80.

8 sailors competed in round 2 of the series when the weather turned out better than the forecast, and the light NE breeze enabled 9 heats around a course defined by 7/O,8,4,7,O,8,5,7,O,5/8. With wind changes and hole, places could be easily lost and some close racing was had.

Top spots go to J Richardson (43), J Bennett (002) and C Wilson (06). Congratulations to them.

Best wishes,

Bruce
