DF65 Racing Results 23-Apr'25

I am indebted to Roger for providing these details.

A rather gloomy sky and fitful NW breeze welcomed 11 DF65 sailors to the lake on Wednesday morning. The start line usually had pin-end bias which was amply compensated for by the fact that there was often very little wind at the pin-end! From the start line to the laid mark just to the north of the jetty it was out to the big orange buoy. Then it was a run/broad reach to the orange and brown buoy before heading back upwind for another lap. The finish between the laid mark and 3 sometimes caught people out who thought they were laying the line on port only to be scuppered by a shift just metres from the line. Nine races were completed and despite a frustratingly fickle wind (in strength and direction) everyone was still smiling at the end.

Best wishes,

Bruce
