DF65 Racing Results 30-Apr'25

I am again indebted to Roger for providing the details of the morning's sailing

On what may have been the hottest morning of the year so far, eight optimistic souls assembled for the final act of the March/April DF65 series. The breeze was forecast to be very light from the NE veering to SE and building very slowly. This was pretty much what happened although a few random wind directions were thrown in to keep competitors on their toes. A reaching start to the big orange mark was followed by a fetch/beat to the orange/brown mark and then a short leg across to the laid mark inshore followed by another lap with a finish on a transit between the end of the jetty and big orange. After the first two races the wind died completely so coffee was taken early. In the break John Bennett tweaked 44 into turbo mode and as the results showed, didn’t look back. Phil suffered a probable receiver failure so sadly had to sit out most of the morning. Otherwise a gentle and at times just a little frustrating morning was had by all.

Congratulations to:

1st - J Bennett (7)

2nd - I White (14)

3rd - R Bridges (16)

for honours on the day and to:

1st - C Wilson (13)

2nd - J Bennett (13)

3rd - I White (15)

for series honours.

19 sailors took part in the series - well done to all.

Best wishes,

Bruce
