DF65 Results 27-Dec'23

Dec 27, 2023

4 sailors assembled in the car park discussing the weather (drizzle and 15-30kn S wind) until Chris suggested that unless we went down to the lake we wouldn't know if it was sailable. Julyan was already there and in all we had 7 braving the conditions. Chris set a triangular course starting and finishing on 4/A. Throughout the morning, gusts and rain came and went creating some challenging conditions. In general it was incident free, although John B had a rig failure (repaired between heats) and there were some collisions and hangups on buoys.

The top 3 this morning were:

1st - J Bennett (002)

2nd - J Richardson (43)

3rd - C Wilson (06)

Congratulations to them and everyone for an exciting morning's sail.

The series podium is:

1st - J Bennett (002)

2nd - C Wilson (06)

3rd - J Richardson (43)

Well done to John - winning by half a hair's breadth.

Just for fun, I've scored all the 2023 series as a year series and here John has won by even less!

1st - J Bennett (002)

2nd - J Richardson (43)

3rd - C Wilson (06)

During the year we had 22 sailors, so well done to all for contributing to some great events. We look forward to 2024 and hope that the algae stays away!

Best wishes,

Bruce
