IOM 30th December 2022

Five stalwart skippers turned out to race one metres this morning: the last club sailing

event of the year, and final IOM event of the Nov-Dec'22 series.

Two auxillary buoys were planted in shore - Orange (OR) off the pier and Quartered Orange (QO) further north for the inner-limit-start-line mark, diagonally adjacent to a choice group of marks - #'s 2, 3 and 4.

A fine, almost horizontal rain welcomed the crews and 'B' or working rigs were selected/ fitted in keeping with the prevailing wind strength.

Triangle/ sausage was the order of the day, course shape - not breakfast:-

Start 2/ QO - 5 - 7 - 1 - 7 - 1 - Fin' OR/ Pier(North).

Although the first leg to #5 was practically a fetch, all on port tack, it made for compact,

inshore starts with quick getaways.

Today's virtual triple ripple to: 1st Place - RD#15, 2nd - CW #06, 3rd - JR#16.

The Nov'-Dec'22 Series Honours: 1st Place - RD#15, 2nd - CW #06, 3rd - JB#66/80.

The 2022 IOM (6 Series) Podium: 1st Place - JB#80/ 66, 2nd - RD#15, 3rd - CW #06.

A Happy New Year to all our readers, their kith' and kin'.....("now where did I put those EDMBC account details?" - ed)
