Racing Results 27-Nov'24

Owing to severe hold ups on the M27 and M271 only 4 skippers had arrived at a chilly Lakeside by the gate-closing time of 9.20. However another 4 arrived before racing started, including Ian and Andy - welcome to them.

With a NNW breeze which picked up during the morning, Chris reset some of the buoys and then set a course of P/A, B, P, 7, B,P, 7, P/A which enabled 8 heats to be raced (in addition to a practice race at the start). The long beat from 7 to B enabled different strategies to be tried and places gained or lost depending on where your boat was when the wind shift happened. Buoy B was particularly beset with lulls and there were a number of buoy rounding incidents although no penalties were for hitting it incurred as it is somewhat moveable.

Those who managed the conditions best were:

1st - R Dyer (11)

2nd - C Wilson (11)

3rd - R Brydges (16)

Best wishes,

Bruce
