Racing Results 6-May'26

8 skippers competed in the first round of the May-Jun series. It was a little chilly to start with, but there seemed to be a decent NNE 10kt breeze. Chris set a course of P/M, R, B, 7, R, B, 7, R/3 and 10 heats were raced. The breeze largely kept up with some stronger guests later in the morning, but lulls particularly around "R" caused a certain amount of angst among those either trying to round it or attempting to cross the finish line.

Congratulations go to those who fared best today:

1st - I White (18)

2nd - C Wilson (20)

3rd - J Bennett (22)

There have been calls for greater vetting of spectators after 2 groups of parents with children (some of them very young) were very noisy, obstructed the bank and ended up fighting just to the north of buoy 7. I'm please to report that no one was hurt, racing was not affected and there were no comments from any local council candidates.

Best wishes,

Bruce
