DF65 Results 15 Feb'23

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

12 sailors took part in the 5th round of the Jan-Feb Series, but the promised wind had clearly been delayed and only towards the end of the morning were there some gusts over 10kn.

Although Chris had been feeling unwell the lure of DF65 sailing got him out of bed. However, once on the water, his boat decided to go sight seeing to the far side of the lake. The fleet followed it and managed to turn it and it's escape was foiled.

Meanwhile Julyan set the course which initially was 0/2, 8, Y, R, 0, 4, 8, Y, R, 0, Y/5, but after the first race the start was changed to 0/3 to provide a more balanced beat on the first leg and a climb up the hill for the competitors.

8 heats were raced and the top three were:

1st - J Richardson (43)

2nd - R Dyer (25)

3rd - J Bennett (002)

Congratulations to them and to all who competed and provided an enjoyable morning's racing.

Best wishes,

Bruce
